THE MANAGING CONSULTANT ROLE
We are looking for a bright and passionate Managing Consultant with strong experience working in sustainability, to join our growing team at Robertsbridge. As an experienced consultant and sustainability professional, you will be excited by delivering positive change for clients. We welcome applications from candidates who have consultancy or in-house experience.
In your role, you will work with cross-sector clients to define sustainability strategies; deliver, communicate and implement sustainability programmes; and lead on strategic stakeholder engagement and mediation.
Managing Consultants take overall accountability for delivering on and growing client accounts, from project set-up and scoping to completion, ensuring a project meets its strategic objectives with high quality outputs. This might take the form of managing larger projects and teams, or providing deep strategic advice based on a strong understanding of clients’ operating context. They also take an active role in growing and managing Robertsbridge, supporting Directors in people development and resource management and maintaining external networks to raise the profile of Robertsbridge and secure new business.
You will be responsible for
- Providing strategic direction and day-to-day support on client accounts, leading, and supporting projects to ensure timely delivery of quality work, leading regular client calls, and delivery meetings
- - Providing insight for clients and the business on the latest developments in the corporate world, relevant sectors, politics, media, and digital communications
- Analysing data, social, economic, policy and political issues to inform the development of strategies for our clients
- Seeking opportunities for organic growth on accounts and leveraging own network of clients, prospects, media, and wider stakeholders to provide insight for clients and new business
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Extensive experience (5-10 years) of client engagement in a strategy consultancy environment (agency or in-house)
- Strong and proven experience in transferring strategy into deliverable actions and change
- Proven track record of delivering impactful Sustainability and ESG programmes
- A confident presenter and storyteller, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and good experience presenting proposals to clients
- Strong project management skills and proven experience of effectively managing multiple projects and priorities
- An excellent networker who can easily develop relationships with clients and civil society
- Experience of working with NGOs and campaigning organisations and a clear understanding of their motivations.
- You will be excited by how our offering can deliver change and be agile to help our clients operate in a rapidly shifting sector
- Experience of working on sustainability impacts within the mining sector (advantageous, not essential)
- Experience of navigating the ever-changing sustainability / ESG regulatory agenda, especially related to ESG disclosure (advantageous, not essential)
PERSON PROFILE
- You will have an appetite for continual development of your own skills, expertise, and knowledge of the ESG agenda
- An ability to build client relationships by demonstrating expertise, balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders, and acting decisively and confidently
- Comfortable with change and crisis management and excited to work with your team to problem solve, focusing on solutions
- Have an interest in the role Stonehaven plays in delivering change for our clients and how we can complement our propositions
- An interest in communications/political/ business/media agenda
- An ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- An ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Respectful and works with integrity
