Assistant Management Accountant (part qualified)
The role
We are looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance Team and work with the Head of Finance to help build the Finance function to support Stonehaven’s plans for growth.
You will help us develop and improve our existing processes as we expand into new business areas and geographies.
You will work with internal stakeholders to maintain an accurate picture of business performance, help build financial knowledge, and ensure the business is running efficiently, meeting stakeholder needs and ensuring we are able to effectively manage external clients.

We have also made considerable investments in our data architecture to build Compass – our proprietary data platform which helps us model trends in public attitudes to some of the biggest issues facing our clients.
We build advocacy campaigns for our clients that reach their audiences, cross channels, integrate digital and creative and above all – drive outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Month end journals and reporting
- Assistance with management accounts preparation
- Keeping up to date reconciliations on balance sheet items
- Daily bank reconciliation
- Client invoicing, onboarding and credit control
- Maintaining the Accounts Payable function
- Review and processing of employee expenses and company card transactions
- Quarterly VAT return preparation
- Assist with annual budget and quarterly reforecasting process
- Support with monthly payroll and on-boarding new joiners for finance and benefits
Ideal candidate
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience in a consultancy business would be an advantage
- Actively studying (ACCA, CIMA) or part qualified
- Strong Excel Skills: Pivots / V-lookups
- Experience with Xero and Dext would be an advantage

- An interest in political/business/sustainability/ESG agenda/media would be an advantage
